Daniel Andrews has lost control of population and it’s putting enormous pressure on our schools.
That’s why a Liberal Nationals Government will commit $2.9 million for much-needed upgrades and new STEM facilities at Timbarra P-9 in Berwick.
Melbourne’s population is now 5 million people and growing at an average of around 2,700 a week and it’s putting enormous pressure on suburbs like Berwick.
Science is a growing area of focus for the school, but its STEM centre is in poor condition with out-of-date facilities.
These new facilities will create a state of the art learning environment for academic education and provide more classrooms to ensure local schools can keep up with population growth.
This investment indicates the importance the Liberal Nationals place in STEM education and preparing young people to tackle the high-tech jobs of the future.
The Liberal Nationals believe the only way to get back in control of population growth is to decentralise our state, ensuring key services are readily available for families in our outer eastern suburbs.
Only the Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population and ensure students have the 21st century facilities they deserve.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:
“Timbarra P-9 College is an outstanding local school. Students wanting to spend more time learning STEM subjects need to be supported with the best possible learning environments and with access to the technology they are learning about.
A facilities upgrade will support teachers in delivering STEM subjects, knowing they have the necessary resources to help their students excel.
The Liberal Nationals are committed to providing new STEM facilities at Timbarra P-9 College and giving local students every chance they need to pursue a quality education.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Narre Warren North, Vikki Fitzgerald:
“With jobs of the future becoming more technology based, it is vital that our schools have the best state of the art facilities to equip students for their further educational and career choices.
Students from Timbarra P-9 College will greatly benefit from modern and contemporary STEM learning facilities, that an elected Liberal Government will provide.
Timbarra is a wonderful school and this upgrade will help students achieve great educational outcomes.”
